Columbia, Maryland — May 27, 2010 — Naturxan, LLC, a joint venture between Archer Daniels Midland Company and Igene Biotechnology, Inc., today announced that it has completed an expansion of its production and distribution capabilities to provide worldwide availability of Aquasta®, a naturally sourced astaxanthin made from Phaffia yeast for enriching and pigmenting salmon and trout consuming aquaculture feeds.

Decatur, Illinois — February 9, 2009 — Archer Daniels Midland Company, Decatur, IL, and Igene Biotechnology, Inc., Columbia, MD, have formed a joint venture, Naturxan, LLC, to produce natural-source astaxanthin, a naturally derived alternative to synthetic astaxanthin, which is widely used in the aquaculture industry. Naturxan, LLC, brings together Igene’s extensive knowledge of astaxanthin technology with ADM’s expertise in production and logistics to better meet the growing demand for natural-source ingredients.
