AQUASTA
Production Process

WORLD-CLASS R&D

Naturxan’s world-class R&D facility at Igene unlocks more than two decades of pioneering research and development of the Phaffia rhodozyma yeast as a natural source of astaxanthin. Our proprietary strain of Aquasta® produces astaxanthin at a concentration of 10,000 ppm, without recombinant DNA modification.

FREE FROM PETROCHEMICALS

Unlike synthetic forms of astaxanthin, which rely on non-renewable fossil fuels, our proprietary fermentation process salmo-fanconsists of renewable ingredients, such as corn sugar. Aquasta® is produced in a controlled environment without the use of ethoxyquin or any solvents requiring the recycling of chemical residues.

PROVEN, PROPRIETARY PROCESS

Our proprietary yeast strains rely on renewable sugars for growth. The yeast cells are then harvested and washed in a natural enzyme treatment that disrupts 90% of the cell wall to improve overall bioavailability. The yeast is then inactivated, concentrated and dried, before standardizing its astaxanthin content.
