Frequently Asked Questions

What is the solubility of Aquasta?

Our astaxanthin product is not soluble in either water or oil because it consists of a disrupted yeast containing astaxanthin. However, if astaxanthin is mixed with oil, the astaxanthin will extract from the yeast and dissolve into the oil, as astaxanthin is oil soluble, but not water soluble.

What is the shelf life of Aquasta?

Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in the original unopened containers at 4 degrees C.  Avoid unnecessary exposure to air and light.

How is your product packaged?

Currently, Aquasta is packaged in both 25 kilo inner vacuum-sealed, foil bags within a corrugated box; as well as packaged in 1,000 kilo super sacs. Present manufacturing specifications for the 1,000 kilo super sacs call for the foil bag to be attached to the polypropylene outer bag using glue.

Can we store product in a general warehouse with other chemicals?

No. To avoid any contamination of the product, Aquasta should be stored in a defined area away from any potential contaminants.

At what recommended temperature should Aquasta be stored?

We recommend Aquasta be stored at 4 degrees Celsius, to preserve its potency.

If the product has passed its guaranteed use date, can we still use it? And how can we make sure it is still a viable product?

Naturxan offers re-assay of customer product to confirm potency, in the event original shelf-life has expired.

What is the turn-around time between placing an order and receiving product?

For existing customers, orders are usually shipped within a 3-4 day period. New customers must first have an account set up, which may take up to two weeks.

Does the product have to be refrigerated during transit?

During winter months for orders requiring transit of 1-3 days, no. For longer periods of time, and during summer months, product should always be shipped frozen, with minimum refrigeration when possible.

Is it possible for me to receive a small sample for analysis?

Naturxan is always glad to provide small 5-gram samples for analysis. We do ask that shipping is paid for by the requesting party when product is required by an overseas entity. Domestic requests are usually handled on a “per request” basis, and depending on location, we may require shipping be paid as well.

How much does your product cost?

Customers are contracted on individual basis. Pricing is determined by length of contract, as well as annual volumes.

What is the minimum order I can place?

You may place an order for as little as 1 x 25 kilo box.

Do I have to pay for shipping?

Shipping costs are determined by taking into consideration many factors:

  • Does the customer have a contract?
  • Does the contracted price state product price includes shipping?
  • Does the contracted price only include product cost? Therefore, shipping would be billed separately.

Do you accept credit card payments?

Not at this time. However, Naturxan is looking into this possibility.

What are your payment terms? Net 30? Net 45? Net 60?

The majority of our customers are set up on Net 30 basis. However, depending on annual contracted volumes, this may turn out to be up to 60 days.

Would I have to pay to have product insured during transit if I place an order?

No. Naturxan maintains a transit insurance policy on all product movement worldwide.
